Medical Overview for Taiwan
What is the program?
Dow Jones offers a comprehensive Group Medical Plan with worldwide cover to employees based in Taiwan and their eligible dependents. It offers a wide range of coverage and benefits including outpatient, hospitalization and surgical, maternity, dental, health check-up, etc.
Who is the insurance carrier?
Our insurance provider is Generali (Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. Hong Kong Branch).
Key program benefits:
- Company paid plans for employees, spouse and dependent children. We also extend the coverage to eligible same-sex partner and domestic partner.
- Flexibility in e-claim submission – both Inpatient or outpatient claims, incurred within or outside Hong Kong can be submitted via the Generali We Care mobile App and e-portal (*subject to e-claim limit).
- Major coverages including:
- Outpatient (General Practitioner, Specialist, Chinese Bonesetter / Herbalist / Acupuncture, Physiotherapy / Chiropractor Treatment, X-Ray & Lab Test)
- Annual Health Check-up and Flu Shots
- Dental
- Hospitalization and Surgical
- Supplementary Major Medical
- Maternity
| Optical Benefit | Up to HK$1,500 per year covering routine eye examination, prescribed glasses and contact lenses. |
| Psychologist Consultation | Up to HK$1,150 per visit, 15 visits per year. |
| Dental Implants | Coverage for Dental Implants up to HK$5,000 per year. |
| Denture Benefit | Coverage for Dentures extended to cover expenses not only caused by accidents. |
| Outpatient Benefit Daily Limit | Removed the “per visit per day” requirement for the same benefit item (i.e. more than one visit can be claimed on the same day and same benefit item for different diagnosis). |
| No. of maximum visits for Outpatient Benefit | One time visit for flu vaccine will be separated from the overall maximum 35 visits per year limit. |
How do I enroll?
The Benefits Team will enroll you for insurance benefits in your first month with Dow Jones. Please make sure your personal information in Workday including full legal name, HKID, date of birth, mailing address and bank account details are accurate for insurance enrollment. A Welcome Email will be sent to your work email with instructions to register for the Generali account when the enrollment is completed.
Please also input your dependents’ information here in Workday so that we can enroll your spouse/partner or children for medical insurance if applicable.
